Wednesday morning we had our second team meeting - we talked about bananas, culture, plastic bags, unity in the body, plane tickets, and now of course we are feeling much more prepared for service in Honduras!
We are just over a month away from departure, please continue to pray for us. Many of us are still raising funds and working on passports and other documents. We are still learning about where we will be and how we might be serving. God is still revealing Himself to us.

Deanna's first post - fromThursday 2/8/10
Today we had Bill and Beth Ryan speak in our weekly missions chapel at KMBC. They are missionaries to Honduras and have been state-side since December on home assignments. What is so neat about hearing this precious couple speak in chapel was that they work at the farm school that our team is visiting next month! As a reminder, school is called El Sembrador, meaning "The Sower," and its purpose is to educate under-privileged boys. How excited I was to be able to see pictures from the school knowing that our team will be there so soon! Hearing about how God is working in Honduras made me all the more excited to visit! After Chapel, Shushan(our team leader) asked me what I thought of the service. I responded by saying, "It was great! It made me want to go right now!" A big "thank-you" goes to the Ryans for sharing with us today and for the inspiration they were to our team.
What an awesome God we serve! Please continue to join with us in prayer, that God would us our team to minister to the people of Honduras. I eagerly await the way in which the Lord will use this opportunity to change me!
In His service,
Deanna
